The Mind Body-Connection
I’ve been talking to my clients a lot lately about the power of positive thinking in recovery and physical transformation.
It may sound hokey pokey to some, but current research backs this up...
Positive people heal faster and get better results.
Negative and fearful people are slow to recover and tend to develop chronic pain.
This is how I explain this phenomenon to my patients:
Our bodies are made up of trillions of cells, each its own individual being with a specific job to do.
Your cells don’t know what’s going on in the outside world, they rely on the nervous system and fascia to get this information.
If you’re in danger, your thoughts tell your cells to respond.
If you’re safe, your thoughts tell your cells it’s ok to chill.
Your cells are always listening to your thoughts.
The question is, what are you saying to them?
Are you saying loving, positive things to yourself? Are you focused on recovery and positive transformation?
Or are you being a jerk to your body? Are you fearful or harp on how and why you got injured and who is to blame?
Cause that will get you 2 different outcomes.
Every time you say your knee is injured, the cells around your knee hear you and respond.
Every time you tell the emotional story of how you were hurt your body thinks you’re getting hurt again!
Every time you say you’re fat, your cells hear you! “Oh we’re fat?” they say. “Ok, I’ll start acting like a fat cell!” Our bodies are the physical manifestation of our habitual thoughts.
It’s a tough concept for some to grasp, but once you do you will have incredible power to transform and heal on your own!
All you have to do is pay attention to your thoughts!
